THEMATIC CONFERENCES

25 october 2022

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN NON-FERROUS METALLURGY

The conference, co-organised by the Association of Non-Ferrous Metal Engineers and Technicians, Łukasiewicz Research Network – the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and ZGH ‘Bolesław’ S.A., is dedicated to technological issues regarding metallurgy of copper and non-ferrous metals, processing and manufacture of new materials based on non-ferrous metals, as well as metallurgy of zinc and lead. Each of these disciplines is characterised by its specific nature; nonetheless, the key problems are common in this context:

  • Originality of solutions on a global scale (worldwide);
  • New solutions in relation to circular economy;
  • New materials applicable in numerous areas of economy;
  • Energy saving and energy recovery;
  • Automation of metallurgical processes;
  • Process digitisation allowing for development of process parameter optimisation models;
  • Occupational safety (safety at work) and protection of workers;
  • Environmental protection concerning gaseous pollution and dust pollution;
  • Recovery of accompanying metals in the non-ferrous industry.

SESSION 1
09.00 – 11.00

Innovative technologies in metallurgy of copper and associated metals

SESSION 2
11.15 – 12.45

New materials and processing of non-ferrous metals

12.45 – 14.00

LUNCH BREAK

SESSION 3
14.00 – 15.30

Innovative technologies in metallurgy of zinc and lead

15.30 – 16.00

CLOSING SESSION

Chair – dr. Zygmunt Krasiński, president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology

  • Summary of five Thematic Conferences – by the Chairs of individual Thematic Conferences
  • Perspectives for cooperation between Polish and German companies in the field of high technologies and digital transformation – by dr. Lars Gutheil, General Director, Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, AHK Poland
  • Announcement of the CETEF’24 – by prof. Jerzy Lis, rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow
  • Closing the CETEF’22

Each session will be finished with a panel discussion featuring notable Polish and foreign experts, where the participants are supposed to seek answers to the question what the current condition of technologies in the non-ferrous metal industry is worldwide and in Poland, as well as how the research and development works and implementations of innovative technologies should be oriented in this industry in order to obtain maximum economic and environmental benefits.
