Prof. Lucyna Woźniak
Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Medical University of Łódź
Graduate of the Lodz University of technology. She received her PhD and DSc at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Research in Lodz. After her PhD, she spent 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow at Kings College London in the team of Prof. Colin Reese. Lucyna Wozniak is a professor of medical sciences and head of the Department of Medical Biology and the Department of Structural Biology at the Medical University of Lodz. Her research interests focus on molecular markers of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the possible prevention and diagnosis of type 2 diabetes in women using metabolomic tools. Since 2012, she has served as Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the Medical University of Lodz. She is a member of the Supervisory Board and the Strategic Innovation Council of EIT HEALTH, as well as Chair of the Supervisory Board of EIT HEALTH Innostars, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board (Life Sciences) of the Vrije Universitet in Brussels (Belgium) and a member of the High-Level Council for the development of maximising the impact of the European Union Framework Programmes (Pascal Lamy Group; Lab-Fab-App report.
