Prof. Michael Schroeder holds a degree in computer science from RWTH Aachen University and a PhD from University of Hannover. He is a professor in bioinformatics at TU Dresden and director of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering of TU Dresden. Prior to joining TU Dresden in 2003, he was a lecturer and senior lecturer at City University London. He works on drug repositioning using protein structure and genomic data with a focus on cancer and infectious disease. He has published over 200 articles on these subjects. He has spun-off three companies from his research group.
